A Selection From Elgiz Museum - “For You”
Hisar School, in collaboration with Elgiz Museum, brings students together for the second time with a
selection from the Elgiz collection, ‘For You’.
Founded in 2001 by collectors Sevda and Can Elgiz as Turkey's first contemporary art museum, Elgiz
Museum is a non-profit private institution that aims to give visibility to contemporary artists. It also
contributes to the development of contemporary art by hosting the projects of young artists and
curators. It enables art to meet people of all ages through temporary exhibitions and children's
education programmes held every year, and supports the art of sculpture by exhibiting Turkish
sculpture artists on the terrace of the museum.
The ‘For You’ exhibition, specially prepared for Hisar Schools, aims to help children discover their
imagination and gain a new perspective. This exhibition aims to take children on a colourful journey in
the light of Atatürk's love of art, while providing a fun and instructive experience in the magical world of
art.
The exhibition includes works by esteemed Turkish artists such as İhsan Oturmak, Hakan Onur, Habip
Aydoğdu, Ebru Uygun, Koray Bıyıklı, Durmuş Bahar, Güliclal Öner, as well as international artists such as
Anne Wölk, Michael Lin and Tina Benz. These works introduce children to diverse cultures with different
perspectives and creative thoughts, inviting them to a questioning and thought-provoking perspective.
The Selection from the Elgiz Collection, "For You" will be on view at Hisar Schools Cultural Centre
between 9th December 2024 - 14th February 2025
