New Selection from Elgiz Collection

Exhibitions

David LaChapelle

The Elgiz Museum presented its new selection... The collection selection, which is periodically renewed in the museum's temporary exhibition space, this time presents the works of many artists such as David LaChapelle, Alex Prager, David Salle, Eric Fischl, Gilbert & George, Guillermo Mora.

Rather than focusing on a single type of work, the new selection brings together video, figurative paintings, photography, sculpture and installation works. David LaChapelle's Uma Thurman, Gossip stands out in the selection. LaChapelle photographs, characterised by hyperrealist elements, this time focus on Uma Thurman. Thurman's red lipstick and colourful eyes greet the visitor at the entrance of the museum.

The other piece of the museum's new selection, Oleg Dou's Goat, is a modified version of a photographic image of a human face by applying a computer programme. Dou was again inspired by the 19th century tradition of child funeral portraits. In this work, he presents a child dressed in costume, ready-made and with attention to fine details.

The selection also includes works by Turkish artists. Şenol Yorozlu's works capture new syntheses, new discoveries and offer the visitor new details to discover. Works by Azade Köker and Volkan Diyaroğlu can also be seen in the exhibition.

The artists whose works are brought together in this new selection from the Elgiz Collection; Alex Prager, Alp Tamer Ulukılıç, Azade Köker, Bedri Baykam, Clara Montoya, Çağdaş Erçelik, Çerkez Karadağ, David LaChapelle, David Salle, Eric Fischl, Gilbert & George, Guillermo Mora, İbrahim Koç, İdil İlkin, Julian Opie, Kezban Arca Batıbeki, Liam Gillick, Lisa Ruyter, Luca Zampetti, Luis Vidal, Maren Krass, Mateo Maté, Matthew Monahan, Mustafa Karyağdı, Neriman Polat, Oleg Dou, Peter Bonde, Ray Harris, Sean Henry, Şenol Yorozlu, Tuncay Deniz and Volkan Diyaroğlu.
