I'm So Sorry To Kill You

Exhibitions

This exhibition, the first curatorial experiment of Halil Altındere, publisher and editor-in-chief of the contemporary art magazine 'Art-ist' and artist Halil Altındere, combining his skills as editor and artist, has been one of the most resonant exhibitions of Proje4L with its title and artists.

The word 'killing' in the title 'I'm So Sorry I'm Going to Kill You' was dedicated to Marc Bijl, a young artist from Rotterdam, known for his anti-establishment performances at the 4th Manifesta (2002) and 11th Documenta (2002) exhibitions. At the same time, these words pointed to the efforts of young artists who, in their own living and artistic spaces, create a focus of resistance against the established values of power and ruling art, reject all kinds of repressive mechanisms wherever they come from, and try to carry this rejection into their works. The exhibition focused on known, unknown or little known young artists from different geographies of Turkey, speaking and producing in different languages.
